Writing Time
Writers are time-travelers. Through memory, reflection, and imagination we can both heal old stories and call in the understandings, timelines, and narratives that the world needs. In this 6-week generative workshop, we will use time as a framework to explore creativity and consciousness through meditative writing. Each live class will include guided meditation and freewriting, and will be recorded for those who wish to attend asynchronously. Lessons will be supported with more than 40 additional resources and prompts so you can continue writing and learning throughout the week, at your own pace. This course is suitable for beginning or returning writers who wish to commit to their process, and experienced writers looking to bring more inspiration and spaciousness to existing projects.

Week 1: Expanding time through Meditative Writing
We will begin by working with time expansively, divorcing our notion of time from transactional frameworks of productivity and tuning inward to access gestational, multidimensional ways of creating.

Week 5: Returning to Earth
In week 5, we will return to the earth cycles that are both expansive and deeply intimate. We will write from the body and from the earth, in communication with trees and streams, animals, or other non-human elementals as a way of expanding our compassion and range as writers.

Week 6: Receiving and Releasing
In week 6, we will deepen our thinking and writing about earth cycles, and will confront the death/birth/death cycle of organic and human creation, looking at the multidimensional transformation that is available to us as creative people. We will keep the gift in motion, and in cycle, by sharing our writing with others, and releasing it into the world.
